The Lorax Reigns Supreme

This past weekend, The Lorax took the number one spot at the box office with $70.7 million. Not a big surprise, it's the kind of family friendly fare that everyone can agree with, once you get past the glaring hypocrisy of making a multi-million dollar blockbuster out of a classic anti-corporate piece of literature. In second place was the movie about Matthew Broderick training chimpanzees for the military. What's that? Wrong Project X? Whatever. Other than that, nothing new made the top ten. I was hoping to see Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie on the list, but considering its limited release it makes sense it didn't earn much this weekend. As predicted, The Artist made a post-Oscars surge and was just barely able to squeak into the top 10.
